People here are very sociable and love to visit each other, as well as watch the world go by as they sit on their front porches. Most of the houses built here have that in mind as almost each home has a porch, no matter how tiny, equipped with rocking chairs, plastic chairs, benches, or anything that would enable people to sit, talk or play dominos or cards.
I love porch culture. It makes it easier to get to know your neighbours as you can wave and say hello as you walk around the neighbourhood.
It seems that this culture of sitting out on one’s porch is so ingrained in the mindsets of many that it has now been extended to the animals as well. My camera caught this napping dog by surprise one hot afternoon in a neighbourhood somewhere out there…..rocking away on the porch thinking that nobody was watching.
